WOW...I'm posting on a Friday!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Many times, I start off my posts with good intentions of it being short(er) and to the point(s). However, I never seem to be able to make that happen :-). So I'm not even gonna go there today....

Alrighty, let's see what I have to share today.

~On Monday, I went to the post office and then to this Mexican restaurant that we like to go to. Although I was hungry and would've been happy to munch on a Fajita...I didn't go there to eat this time. About 10 minutes after Jayla's birthday party ended last year, the girl was already putting together a game plan for NEXT year's shindig :-). (a "planner" after my own heart) However, planning anything other than a 200 person wedding a year in advance is even a bit much for me. Anyway, Jayla wants to have a Mexican Fiesta this year. Her birthday is in November. So I figured being the "reasonable" planner that I am, I'd better start getting my act together.

I've decided that this year, I don't want to ANYTHING but decorate and send out invitations for the party. So that's why I went to this particular restaurant, to find out about catering. I find out that "catering" isn't done through my local location, it's all done through some home office type location.

Not a problem!

I get home, give them a call, provide all the pertinent information for this upcoming Fiesta. ONLY to receive an email, 5 minutes later with an attached proposal.

Sweet, huh?

Not so much!

It will be a COOL $766.00 (yes, I put the decimal in the right place) to cater a 7 year olds birthday party!!!

Ok, now I'm trying to think about how, exactly, I'm gonna present this to Mister M. Not that I'm even CONSIDERING having the party catered now. But, I just LOVE seeing the element of surprise on his face, LOL. So he gets home and I tell him that I looked into the catering that we discussed. I tell him to sit down :-) and he gives me this, "Uh oh! " look. I hand him the proposal and...I wait. He looks at me and immediately says, "I didn't know Jayla was getting married!" Hee hee...that's what I was thinking. Then he asks, "So, what's plan B?" lol. I then send the nice catering lady a sweet email telling her that, although I appreciate her assistance, we've decided that $766 is a bit much to pay for a childs birthday party. Actually, I don't think we've spent that much on all 6 of her past birthday parties combined! :-) Within 15 minutes, she replies saying that she has made a few "adjustments" for us, and for me to look over the new proposal and let her know what I think. SURE...$466 is MUCH better!!! Seriously lady! You REALLY want me to tell you what I think?? I doubt it.

ANYWAY, it looks like I'm gonna be decorating, sending out inviations AND cooking up a bunch of taco meat and slicing tomatoes! ARGH!!! Anything for the kids, right? :-D

~OH...I meant to follow up with ya'll and tell you that I did eventually find a gas station...with gas! And I sat in line for over 20 minutes...waiting for one of the 6 pumps that were open (there are 16 at this particular station). Again, ARGH!!!

~Next up on my fun week...a bra fitting! Yes, I'm gonna share this with you, lol. By the way, before I go any further, I've located Victoria's Secret...it's down my shirt!!

ANYWAY, I have this "event" coming up and I'm gonna need a nice, new bra. So my eldest daughter tells me that VS will do a free bra fitting. SWEET! I wander over to our local VS and ask the sales girl/lady if they do fittings there. She confirms that they do and reaches in her pocket and pulls out a tape measure. YEP...she wants to measure me right there in the front of the store at the door! Seriously?!?!? Then she says, "Oh, did you want to go do this in the dressing room?" Well, huh...let me think a minute? YEAH, let's do that!!

Anyway, she gets me measured and I find that I've been right all along. Yay me! But wait...there's more! What's up with the double letters? Technically speaking, aren't all women "double letters"? I mean, for the most part, we all have 2 "girls/ta-ta's" or a SET of twins, don't we? Ok, for the record, she TOLD me that I would be considered a "double", but a "single" would work just as well. Now, how is that possible? I accidentally bought a "double" one time and the thing was just short of being a mock turtleneck!

Make it a single, please! Sheesh...

~I had the pleasure of picking out the trophies for our Lil Stingrays. What happen to the days when you could walk into a trophy store, tell the people you want 16 soccer trophies and a week later, they're ready? What's up with the mazillion choices? ARGH!! Anyway, I made the decision and I can now check that off my to do list.

~Speaking of soccer, Jayla's team was invited to play a scrimage game during the half time of one of our local colleges. She and the rest of her team are SOO excited. So next Friday is the day. I'll let you know how that goes.

~Almost lastly, let's talk about gas again, shall we? NO, I don't have any! :-) And neither do half the gas stations in Georgia! Mister M. attempted to get gas at 6...yes, SIX different gas stations yesterday on his way home from work. He was able to see just how far a teaspoon of gas will get cha! Fortunately, he made it home. Still, he wasn't able to find a place last night. The poor guy got up this morning at 4:45 to go see if he could put gas in his car. Fortunately, my van had a 1/2 tank. So he takes my van and the gas can to search for some petro for his car. After going to 3 places, he finally finds a place, waits in line, fills up my van and puts a few dollars in the gas can. He then comes back home, uses the gas in the gas can to put gas in his car, then leaves again to go fill up his car. He didn't get back home this morning until 6:3o! Only to have to get dressed for work and head back out again. Poor guy!

~LASTLY, our U14 Stingrays have a game tonight and then the other 2 teams play tomorrow. After the games, Coach M. has been invited to a birthday party for one of the players. YES, the kids invite my husband to birthday parties, LOL.

SO...that's my week & upcoming weekend in a HUGE nutshell. But before I bid you a farewell, how bout we end with a flower fix...

Have a great weekend!

Have ya'll seen this?

Ok, I just finished reading Brown English Muffin's blog and her newest post made me think about this commercial. I've only seen it once and not even in its entirety. But I absolutely love it. Check it out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A2Ap3DyvLg

Jayla is fortunate to have a dad who would do this with her. He absolutely LOVES being a dad...especially to girls. You guys should see him out on the soccer field. Also, when any of the boys from our U14 soccer team have a birthday party, they always invite Coach Marque :-).

Anyway, I mentioned this video in a comment on BEM's blog. And I'm glad I immediately went to try and find it...while it was still on my mind.

Ok, I think that's all I have for now. I'm about to leave for my weekly Girls Night Out. So maybe I'll have something fun to share tomorrow. Enjoy your evening!!

How bout an update?

Hi Ya'll!!!

Welp, it looks like I've let another week pass me by, huh? I seriously thought I'd have more time to blog once school was back in. Guess I was kinda wrong about that.

But in my own defense, I no longer have a laptop. I gave it to my mom. I use to do a lot of my updating at night from my laptop once I shut my desktop down for the evening. But now, once I shut down and go to my room for the evening....I'm DUN!!! :-)

Anyway, it's nothing personal...Believe me.

Ok, let's see, this week I had a bunch of running around to do...mainly trying to find a gas station that actually had some gas! What's up with THAT? I also found myself working at the school for a few hours this week. Oh, and while we're on the subject of school, Jayla got her Fall pictures back this week. Check out this little cutie. Then on Friday night, our big Stingrays had a game. Oh my goodness, these guys are looking awesome! They won 6-0. We had team pictures taken yesterday morning...THAT was interesting. Jayla's team played first and she scored one goal. Yay Jaylabear!! Our big Stingrays were expecting to have a pretty tough competition yesterday, but managed to pull off another "W". They won 7 - 0. Our other team, Barcelona, had a tough game yesterday as well. But also won. Their score was 5 - 3! I'm so proud of all of our teams. We've got our first tournament coming up the first weekend in October. So we'll see how we do there.

I want to take a minute to give a special Thank you shout out to my friend, Melanie. She sent me a sweet little care package of scrapbooking stuff. I love getting surprises in the mail.

Lastly, I think it's time I do the Friday Flower Fix. But shoot, I may have to change the name of that here pretty soon. Because it's a rare thing for me, these days, to get that posted on Fridays :-). I'll have to think about that some more. But in the meantime, here's your fix.

Oh well, that's all I've got for today. See, there was a good reason I didn't update this past week...I don't have much to post about, lol. I'm even becoming a little boring. Anyway, we all know that that's subject to change without notice. So stay tuned! :-D

Ya'll have a great week and I'll talk to you soon. Toodles!!

I'm comin, I'm comin!!!

Happy Sunday, everyone.

A dear friend of mine, sweetly reminded me that I was off my game, once again, with regards to updating my BLOG. Well...SKUZE ME!!! :-)

Let's see, what have I been doing since I chatted with you guys last? I had breakfast here with a few friends on Wednesday morning. Nothing like good food and great friends. And then on Friday I had breakfast at IHOP with an old high school friend. I also volunteered at Jayla's school a couple of days. Then on Friday evening, we went to a birthday party for one of Jayla's friends. We had fun watching all these little girls squeal over gifts and just having fun together.

And now, that brings us to soccer. Yesterday, Jayla had a 9am game and what a game it was. Never have I seen kids under the age of 8 talk trash! :-) It was kinda funny...well, at least until the trash talker from the other team got up in my Jayla's face! HEY NOW!!! We'll have NONE of that!! :-)

The Stingrays scored a goal and it obviously didn't sit too well with one of the girls from the other team. She starts yelling at our girl who scored and said we were cheating as well as a few other things. Then I see this same girl get up in Jayla's face and start talking smack. So at the water break, I asked Jayla what the girl had said to her. Are ya'll ready for this? Jayla told me that the girl was yelling at her and saying that she hated here. And THEN...the girl called Jayla a....LADY BUG!!! A Lady Bug! Can you believe it??? Boy, someone needs to wash that girls mouth out with liquid hand sanitizing soap, LOL.

It took everything I had not to laugh. But Jayla was SO out done by being called a "lady bug". So much so that in the next half, while the "name caller" was playing goalie, Jayla took the ball down the side of the field and sent that thing, MACH 5, right through the girls hands and into the net. BOO-YAH!!! :-) And that was just one of the 2 goals that Jayla scored. That's my girl!!!

And to end this game, the "name caller" showed great sportsgirlship, by coming over to Jayla and apologizing to her for calling her such a CRUEL name :-). I thought that was very sweet.

Our 2nd game of the day was played by Barcelona, our U16 team. Sadly, they lost 4 - 2. But played well, nonetheless. Maybe next weekend!

Lastly, was our U14 Stingrays. What a game! Despite the sucky field conditions, our boys pulled off another "W". They won 4 - 1! Woo Hoo!!!

Well, that's about it for our weekend. Not sure what's planned for the upcoming week. But I'm ready for it!!! :-). I hope you all had a great weekend and that you'll have a wonderful week. I'll be talking with ya soon.

But before I go, here's your fix....

Toodles!!

Soccer Season Opener

This promises to be a shorter than normal post. I mean, there's not much you can say when ALL THREE teams win their opening games. Woo Hoo!!!

Game 1 - Lil Stingrays 9am: Jayla's all girls team did AWESOME today! And I must say, we sure have a pretty team :-). They really are! At the U8 level, they don't keep score. But I'm no dummy! I know that when one team scores more goals than the other team, that team wins! So, let's just say the Stingrays got a big ole "W" today!

And just try and guess who scored the very first goal within the first 2 minutes of the game?

No...GUESS!!!

That's right...Jayla, aka "Fancy Feet" :-).

Here's a couple before the game photos. (Please disregard the early morning "fake" smile) lol

Game 2 - Stingrays 12pm: My goodness, what can I say about the Stingrays? They were absolutely AMAZING today! They won their game 11 to 0! And from what I was told, the coaches told the boys to play down a little bit today. Good gracious, if this was playing DOWN...I can only imagine what the score would've been had they played to their full potential! Yay Stingrays!!!

Game 3 - Barcelona 2pm: Once again, what can I say about our new U16 team? I've never actually sat and watched an entire U16 game before. Man, was I impressed. Some of the guys have never even played for an actual organized team before. Well, who woulda thunk it? They play GREAT together. Some of the boys on this team, were actually from the Stingrays. But due to their age, they had to move up. So, in order to keep the guys together, we kinda moved up too and created a new U16 team. That way, when the Stingrays move up in a couple of seasons, they will all be back together again. Anyway, the Barcelona won today too...10 - 0!! Woo Hoo!!!

Alright, needless to say, we're all pretty pumped about how all the kids played today. Hopefully, this is what our season will look like. All I can say is, don't try and reach me on a Saturday :-). We got to the fields today at 8:45am and didn't leave until after 4pm! So, if you need me, check there first :-) lol.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Gig is up!

Hey ya'll!

How the heck are ya?

Ok, I wonder why I thought I'd be back to my ole bloggin ways once Jayla got back in school? That was just crazy of me, wasn't it? Man, I've been running around like a Hewbrew slave as of late.

Fortunately, it's not more than I can deal with. But, by the time I think about blogging, the day is SHOT!!

Anyhoo, life is grand and all is well. So, let's see, what's been goin on? Well, soccer has started now. The rain stopped long enough for us to have some practices. Jayla is still on the Lil Stingrays. But now the team is all girls. Coach Daddy is gonna have his hands full...LOL. There are 15 girls on the team. And being that he is now considered a head coach, that means my duties have changed a little. I'm kinda the team mom now. So we'll see how I handle that job.

Speaking of jobs, the scrapbooking gig is over. I delivered the album this past Wednesday. And guess what? She LOVED it!!! She even gave me a little bit of a tip. So that was a fun surprise. She also asked if I'd be interested in doing more work for her. So we'll see where that goes.

Let's see, what else? Oh, Cheryl had a really cool post not long ago, about celebrating birthdays. Well, needless to say, I haven't participated yet. It's not because I don't want to or because I've forgotten...ok, I did kinda forget :-). But, I just haven't gotten around to it. However, I will share a little bit of my "secret" with you. It perfectly ties into Cheryl's "birthday" post....well, kinda.

Tell ya what, how bout ya'll just tell me if you like this dress:

If I was having a party...may not necessarily a BIRTHDAY party, I'd want to wear this.

Excuse me a moment...To those of you that I've spoken a little bit about this to, NOT A SINGLE WORD!!! :-)

Ok, so, I want this dress for a very special event that's coming up. Yes, my birthday is coming in a couple of months. But that's not what it would be for. I can't spoil the surprise right now. So, I'll leave you with the dress for now. However, I would like to know what ya'll think of it.

Oh, back to soccer for just a second. Tomorrow is our season opener. So wish the Lil Stingrays luck. This season we'll be spending even more time on the field. As Mister M. is now coaching 3 teams. Jayla's all girls, U8 team, the U14 Stingrays and the U16 Barcelona. THIS is gonna be interesting!!! :-) Ok, wish them ALL luck!

By the way, Jayla is TOTALLY enjoying 1st grade and is doing awesome. It is still kinda hard to believe that she can read and write now :-). The girl has homework everyday and gets upset if I suggest that she have a little snack and "chill out" for a bit before she gets started on her work, lol. It's so amazing to watch her learn and enjoy school so much. She gets so excited when she reads to us or when she gets her math problems right. I just love it! I sure hope she keeps this attitude about school.

Well, I think that's all I've got for today. Thank you to those of you who have checked up on me or left me comments, "reminding" me that I need to update my blog, LOL.

Lastly, how bout a flower fix?

You guys have a great weekend and I'll keep you posted on how our teams do tomorrow. Remember, Be Inspired...I (still) am! :-)
