It's FRIDAY!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Earlier this week, I had breakfast with a friend...a friend who I love dearly!

She brought to my attention, as sweetly as she possibly could, I'm guessing :-)...that I haven't done my Friday Flower Fix in a while. Let me see, her words were something like this...

"OH...by the way, you haven't been posting flowers on your blog on Fridays anymore. Your posts are always about...Jayla!"

Well, that may be what she SAID! But what I HEARD was....

"OH...by the way, you haven't been posting flowers on your blog on Fridays anymore. Your posts are always about...THAT JAYLA!!"

See the difference? LOL

Although there may be some truth to what she said (and what I heard), I think "THAT JAYLA" is just as beautiful as a flower and she needs her blog time too! lol

But don't ever let it be said that I don't listen to my friends and take their "subtle" suggestions. So without further delay, how bout some Flower Pix???

How's that...FRIEND?!?!?! LOL

And these last flowers are for THAT JAYLA!!! She stayed home today with a fever. So these tulips are for her. I actually bought her some today. But as far as pictures go...these are beautiful too.
Ya'll have a great weekend! It's supposed to be T-storms and possibly snow here tomorrow. So we're gonna hang around the house and do...NUTHIN!!! :-)

Toodles!!

Here's what I've been up to

I have been asked by a few people to share some photos of the jewelry that I've been making. Well, I'm not really convinced that my "creations" are blog worthy. But I guess since I keep making comments as to what I've been doing with my spare time (HA...spare time, RIGHT!!), I may as well share, huh?

Although scrapbooking is still my first love, I have given it a little break for a while. And silly me, here I thought I'd be taking a break and not doing ANY hobbies. WRONG!!! I just picked up another...making jewelry.

Ok, I've stalled long enough.

Here are a few pix of some of my favorite pieces. And feel free to leave comments and let me know if I should just stick to volunteering at Jayla's school or whatever, but to just give up the jewelry making :-). I (think) I can take it :-). OR let me know if I'm on the right track...

This is a set I made for a friend out of guitar picks.
I made this set for my dear friend, Lauren.

These I made for my daughter (Briyanna). She wanted some "denim" earrings...so that's what I made her. Think she'll mind that I made them out of her dad's Levi's? :-)

This is my favorite set, by far...for now :-) Gotta love purple!

This is pretty close to denim. I love wearing these with jeans.

(Please excuse the quality of these photos. I'm a scrapbooker and new jewerly maker...not a photographer, LOL)
Ok, Ok...I have a lot of favorites. Sad thing is, there's a bunch more where these came from. But this is enough to get you started.

Thanks for asking to see my work, Cheryl. Hope you like it!
(Almost) any and all comments are welcomed :-).

Special events

Hey ya'll!

Well, first things first. We had a really special day this past Sunday. And I'd love to share it with you.

First of all, this cute little boy....(sorry for the 2 grainy photos)
...had a birthday on Sunday.

And here he is today... (well, not really "today"...but a year or so ago, lol). He's so hot in this picture, I just had to share it.
Happy Birthday, babe! I love you bunches and bunches!!!

The other special event we had on Sunday was Jayla's baptism. Ya'll, when I say this child was UBER excited about this...it's an understatement :-). She has been inquiring about Jesus and about being baptized for quite a while. And we thought she was finally ready. So what better day to do it than on your daddy's birthday? I let the birthday boy take the pictures...so sorry, for the partially cut off head of the Youth Pastor, LOL. Daddy was just as excited as Jayla was :-).
After Jayla was "dunked", she said, "WOOO!!! I'm a baptized girl now!!" Everyone in the chapel just burst into laughter. She was so excited.
At one point, before she and the 3 other people were baptized, I noticed that Jayla was tearing up. So I motioned her over to my lap and asked her what was wrong. She smiled and said, "Mommy, I just can't believe all these people are here for ME!" (along with me and daddy, there were 10 other family members there to witness this special moment in Jayla's life. Also, the other families that were there for the others being baptized.) So I was glad to find out that those were happy tears.
Here are a few more shots from that special day.
The birthday boy :-), me and Jayla with her certificate of baptism.
The birthday boy and our daughter, Briyanna.
After the baptism, we all went to dinner and had a great time. Mister M. and Jayla had a special dessert request. However, it wasn't on the menu. So when we got home, we had some of this yummy Lemon Pie that I made for them. It's a SUPER easy recipe that my mom gave me.
Ingredients:
Juice from 2 - 3 squeezed lemons
1 can of Sweetened Condenced Milk
1 8oz. container of Cool Whip
1 Ready Made Graham Cracker Crumb Crust
Directions:
Mix the first 3 ingredients together, pour into the crust and refrigerate for 2 - 3 hours or until filling is set. Enjoy!!!
That's it! Thank you for sharing in our families special moments. Enjoy your day...

Oooops, can't believe I forgot to share this

On Valentines Day, Jayla attended a friends birthday party. Ya'll know my friend, Stacey, right? Yes, the one I talk about all the time :-). Well, her daughter turned 4 last week so Stacey had her party on Valentines Day.

The theme of the day was a little Tea Party and talk about cute...check these pics out. (There are quite a few. But they were ALL so cute...and I couldn't choose just a couple to share.)
Before the party.
Time to put on the make-up!

All "dolled" up, :-).

Jayla and the birthday girl.

All the little ladies.

Tea time.

Notice Jayla even has her little pinky up as the sips her tea? Such a lady!
I love this picture. Stacey's 3 sons even got in on the party. They served all the girls. Too cute!

Doesn't EVERY proper lady eat her marshmallows with a fork? LOL

Well, that's it for this post. But there's more to come...not of the tea party though :-). See ya soon!

It takes a park

Happy Friday everyone!

You may remember a few weeks ago, Jayla's doll, Anna, "knocked" Jayla's tooth out while we were at the park. Remember that? Well, that tooth's next "tooth" neighbor was also loose, but wasn't quite ready to vacate the premises. I even took the girl to the dentist to make sure all was ok with the pearly whites. Jayla's 2 front teeth grew in kinda oddly shaped. In fact, people would often ask me if she'd fallen or something and broken her teeth. But nope, that's just how they came in. ANYWAY, the dentist said all was well and that the "dangler" would probably come out on its own in about a week or so. Not to worry. But if we wanted to hurry up the process, all we had to do was get some Popsicles and let the tooth & gums get really cold...then we could just push it out with minimal pain & blood. I'm ALL for that!

But it didn't work, LOL.

Fast forwarding a week. On Monday, Jayla was out of school for Presidents Day. So being that it was such a pretty day (and I don't like sitting around the house) we decided to take a field trip to the Kennesaw State Park. On our way there, I stopped for gas and got us a drink and a bag of puffy Cheetos to share.

We decided to take a little hike up the mountain (which I said I wouldn't do..but it was fun). After our hike, we took a seat at a picnic table to feast on Dr. Pepper, Sprite and Puffy Cheetos. That's good eatin folks...GOOD EATIN! :-) Jayla grabs a Cheeto out of the bag, bites into it and immediately develops this strange "pee in the pool" look on her face :-). I asked her what was wrong and with tightened lips, she says, "Uh, nothin!" Ok, I'm a mother and I know when something is up. So I ask her again, and she starts to cry a little. Then I thought to myself...IT'S THE TOOTH!!! I asked her if she hurt her tooth and again, through tightened lips...which were now oozing with spit, blood AND orange Cheeto juice (sorry for the visual), she said, "Uh NOTHIN!"

Anyway, long story short, after an entire pack of Kleenex, a little coaxing and dry heaving on my part, I finally convinced Jayla to pull her, now dangling by an orange colored spit string, tooth out. Mission accomplished! And you'll all be glad to know that I didn't have any water with me this time either, lol. But fortunately, we were near a bathroom and water fountain. WHEW!!!

And just after I snapped this shot.... ....Jayla asked, "Uh, MOM...can we go home now?" Of course we can...cuz mommy needs to throw up! LOL. (Sorry folks, there are quite a few things I can tolerate. But blood and icky, dangling teeth ain't one of 'um!)

And here's the lovely toothless one today.... (still just as cute as ever)

...Ok, what exactly happens to kids, girls more specifically, while they are at school during the day? Look at this childs hair! LOL

Anyway, speaking of teeth, I started my "complimentary" tooth whitening regimen last night. So after my FORTY treatments, I'll let ya'll know how it went :-).

Oh, guess what? This coming Sunday is Mister M's birthday. Happy Birthday, sweetie! And to celebrate, Jayla has decided to get baptised. I'm so excited for her. There will be pictures next week of that. Afterwards, we're all going to dinner to celebrate both of these happy events.

Welp, that's it for me today. You guys have a great weekend and I'll chat with you later. Toodles!!

Friday the 13th...not so freaky anymore, huh?

Do ya'll remember back in the day, whenever the 13th of the month fell on a Friday, everyone would just FREAK out? That was always so funny to me. That Jason had everyone all spooked :-).

Well, Friday the 13th just isn't so creepy anymore. To be honest, it never really was to me. But I'm just rambling.

ANYWAY, what has everyone been up to this week? For me, this week has been CRAZY! But in a good way. Let's recap, shall we?

~On Monday, I went to go pick up my dress. Ya'll remember "the dress" right? I dropped it off to be altered a couple of weeks ago. So I picked it up on Monday. I tried it on when I got home...I think Dawn likey! :-) More on that later...

~Tuesday proved to be a SUPER fun day. A few weeks ago, we received a note from Jayla's school saying that Feb. 11th was going to be Grandparents & Special Family/Friends Day. And on that day, your grandparents and/or some other special people in your childs life could join them for lunch at school. Well, I got a wild hair to call my dad in NY to see, if by chance, he might be able to get away for a few days. And do ya'll know he made it happen? We let it be a surprise to Jayla...especially because we all know that things happen and Pop-Pop may not have been able to come. But like I said, he managed to work it out. I love surprises...

So anyway, my dad's flight arrived on Tuesday morning. He even got here early enough to be able to pick Jayla up from school with me. Normally, I just park in the carpool line and a teacher puts her in the car for me. But sometimes I walk up to the school and get her. I thought today would be a good day to do that. I was so excited about surprising Jayla with her Pop-Pop, that her just getting in the car would NOT do.
We get up to the door and just as we do, her class is coming out of the building heading to the gym, which is where car-riders are called and dismissed from. Do ya'll know she didn't even notice my dad standing next to me? LOL She jumped and clapped and squealed in excitement to see me up there like she always does. I slyly turned her around and ushered her to go on in the gym until they called her name. And just as she got in the door, her name was called. So she comes out telling me how funny it was that she was called just as she walked in the gym. Then, in mid sentence, she sees him! "POP-POP!!! It's my Pop-Pop!!!" she screams! She runs and jumps in his arms. It was priceless! He was just as excited to see her. He told me that THAT moment was why he came and what he was looking the most forward to.
I think we were home before Jayla spoke to me again! LOL

~Wednesday was the actual luncheon at Jayla's school. Me, Mister M. and my dad weren't too excited about the menu for the day :-). So we went and picked up Chick Fil A for all of us (Jayla too) and took it to the school. Pop-Pop sat at the table with Jayla and her class. Jayla had the hardest time eating...probably because she still had this big goofy grin on her face from her "surprise". lol
(the above shot was also being taken by a real photographer. I was trying to be discreet while taking my picture, hence it's blurriness. However, I love how you can see Jayla laughing because my dad is making funny noises.)
By the way, the other kids in Jayla's class really got a kick out of my dad. Let the records show that my dad will do ANYTHING, and I do mean ANYTHING to make people, especially kids, laugh. My "mature" dad has a real "mature" ring tone on his cell phone. What is it you may ask? How bout a montage of FART noises? Yep! That's my dad.

How convenient that my dad's phone rang right in the middle of everyone eating lunch. You don't think he actually answered it to stop it from ringing, DO YOU? Well of course not! All he did was let it ring and continue to say, "OH my...EXCUSE ME!" The kids were rolling on the floor laughing! Me? I was TOTALLY embarrassed! And Mister M. just smiled and shook his head. LOL

Honestly, it wasn't too bad. Jayla doesn't get to see my dad too often. So I let it slide this time. LOL They were all having fun. Not to mention, that's just how he is. He's the best Grandpa.

~Thursday, we met up with my oldest daughter and Mister M. for lunch. I was glad dad got to see Briyanna. Normally when he comes, they aren't able to hook up. So this was special for everyone.

Yes, Briyanna took a picture with my dad AND her dog, Diego :-). Please excuse me in the 2nd picture...it was windy and the sun was in our face :-).

Dad made it back home safely to NY on Thursday night. Love you Dad! Thanks SOOO much for coming!

~Friday was a low key day. Which I needed.

~Saturday will be a different story altogether. Soccer-birthday party-swimming lesson registration-more soccer. What a way to spend Valentines Day :-). I'm tired already.

So, what do you guys have planned for this Valentines weekend? Any special Valentines traditions you and your sweetie and/or family/friends share? I'd love to hear about them.

Lastly, I hope to share my jewelry creations in my next post. So stay tuned for that. Well, I'm outta here for the night. Ya'll have a great weekend! Toodles.

Yes...I'm here...

Hello everyone!

Are ya'll enjoying your weekend? It has been GOREGOUS here in the ATL! So what it was 16 degrees with snow flurries 4 days ago! It's currently 66 degrees! And yesterday, is was about 65 with beautiful blue skies.

Gotta love the South!

Anyway, in case you were wondering, I went in for my 2nd try at removing the mystery wisdom tooth. Everything went well. I don't remember most of the visit...but I HEAR that it all went well :-). I'm simply going by the info that Mister M. has been giving me. He even told me that we stopped by the pharmacist for my antibiotics prescription. Guess I'll have to take his word for it, lol. Funny how I can't even remember something as simple as sitting in the parking lot. Oh well!

I'm having a little discomfort today. But it's mainly my jaw. I guess whatever they use to hold your mouth opened scrapped the inside of my jaw, so it's a little raw back there. Other than that, I'm doing great! Oh, I can't open my mouth too wide, like to yawn or anything, without a little pain and tightness. But my family doesn't seem to mind :-). Fortunately, I haven't had the need to go get the pain killer prescription. I go back for my follow up on the 17th. So HOPEFULLY, they won't find ANOTHER stray tooth in my mouth that isn't supposed to be there, lol.

I've mentioned a few times on here, that I've been dabbling in jewelry making. And I've been asked by a few people to post some of my stuff on my blog. Well, I think I'm gonna do that...just not in this post. So stay tuned for that.

Lastly, I have a secret to tell you. Now, don't tell Jayla...cuz it's a surprise :-). This coming Wednesday at Jayla's school, they are having Grandparents & Special Family/Friends Day. You may remember my MIL went with us when Jayla was in kindergarten, and it happened to be on Jayla's 6th birthday. Well, for 1st grade, they're having it this month for some reason. ANYWAY, the secret is, my dad (aka Pop-Pop), is coming down from NY for this special day. I'm so excited! Jayla is gonna come UN-glued when she sees her Pop-Pop. He will get in town on Tuesday morning. So the gig will be up when dad goes with me to pick Jayla up from school on Tuesday. He'll be here until Thursday night. I will definitely be taking pictures and I'll be sure to share those with you.

Anyway, that's all I've got for today. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during my "wisdom" ordeal. You guys are the best!

Have a great week and I'll holla atcha soon. Toodles!!

Happy Tuesday!

Hey ya'll! How's it been goin?

All is well here. As always, I've been a busy/crazy lady, lol. But some things never change.

I don't have much to write about today. However, I do have something to show you. Some of you may remember this as one of Jayla's Christmas gifts a couple years ago:
Well, my friend Stacey is about to throw a 4th birthday party for her sweet daughter, Briah. And guess what she wants? A mailbox! Not sure if Briah ever saw Jayla's...but she wants one for herself. So, I decorated one for her too. Check it out:
Cute, huh?

Jayla saw it and said, "Heeyyy, I want MINE to look like that!" Guess you know what that means...I'll be "altering" Jayla's in the near future, lol.

Anyway, not too much else going on. OH...I go in for my wisdom tooth surgery on Thursday morning. So if it's not too much trouble, will ya'll say a quick prayer for me?

Also, I'm still going strong on my Project 365, so be sure to check out the pix I've taken thus far. The link is right over there, on the lefthand side of this blog.

Oh, and speaking of teeth...Jayla still hasn't lost that other top/front tooth. That thing will just NOT let go of her, lol. But I think it'll be out within the next couple of days. So stay tuned for that infamous "no fronts" picture, LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
