Ok, I've got a few things to cover this morning. So let's get to it.
First, and foremost, here's your FRIDAY FLOWER FIX:
So, what have you guys got planned for the weekend? All I can say is that I hope it's something you can do outdoors. Fall is TRULY upon us now. I LOVE this time of year. Needless to say, we'll be spending our weekend on the soccer field...which doesn't hurt my feelings at ALL.
But speaking of being "hurt"...yesterday, I decided to take Trae to the fields with us while Jayla practiced. BAD IDEA!!! I mean, he's a really good dog. But he's SO spastic!! lol A friend of ours has been, all but begging me to bring Trae to the field so she can meet him. And the only day we're at the fields at the same time is on Thursdays. So we finally had a Thursday that it wasn't raining and I was able to take Trae. And don't you know, my friend wasn't even there? Something about having to work late...that's original! :-) Anyway, I took ole boy with me and he slobbered all over the windows, doors and me! YUCK!!! I think he was a little nervous going over there because the boy was just shivering. I guess he thought we were going back to the vet where that freaky grey cat was. Anyhoo, we get to the field and he about hangs himself trying to get out of the van. I could almost hear him saying, "MOM! Look at all those BALLS!!! (cough cough) Are those for me? (hack cough) Oooo, look at that one! Oooo, that one's pretty! (hack hack) Oh look at all the people I can jump up on and lick!" This place is SO much bigger than our backyard!" (cough). He about choked to death trying to walk in 4 different directions at one time. Snatching and dragging me with him. But after the initial 10 minutes of excitement, he calmed down and was pretty good. Then daddy showed up and the excitement came with it :-). He did well though. However, I did have to tell my friend that her chances to see "the handsome one" have now been exhausted...at least at the soccer fields. So I guess she'll have to visit the ole boy on his own turf. NOW...I said all this to say, that my shoulders and my left ankle are a little sore this morning. But I'm awight!! :-)
I have a short, cute Jayla story to share with you. This morning, I was doing her hair before leaving for school. And our conversation went a little something like this:
J - "Hey mom, do ants like pie?"
M - (a little off guard) "Uh, I'm not sure honey. But it's sweet, so they probably do."
J - "OH!"
M - "Why do you ask?"
J - "No reason. I was just checkin."
J - "Hey mom, do ants fart?"
M - (Big out loud laugh) "WHAT?? Where did THAT question come from?"
J - "I dunno...I was just checkin."
That little girl is a mess. The questions she comes up with. I just wish I was in a position to write them down more often...or better yet, had a better memory :-).
