Soooo, Dawn, what have YOU been up to???

Hey ya'll.

Ok, I've come to the conclusion that, I'm either a VERY boring person, therefore, I don't have anything to blog about. OR, I have too many things going on, therefore, I don't have time to blog. Hmmm, which is it?............I got nuthin! :-)

A friend of mine told me that I'm not "boring"...but I think that sometimes my life may be a little mundane to my readers. So, I guess I kinda took a few days to figure out if, in fact me and/or my life are in fact boring. What did I come up with? I'm glad you asked.... Bottom line is...I just haven't had much to write about. Simple as that. :-)

And not that nothing has been going on around me, mind you...just not alot of blogworthy stuff. But, just to make myself, and maybe you guys, feel better, here's what I've been up to: (try to keep up...hee hee)

1. Did ya'll know that Jayla plays soccer & her daddy is a coach? LOL. Who wants to alert the media? Jayla has practice every Monday and Thursday evening from 6pm - 7pm. Since daddy coaches the big Stingrays, he has to hang around for their practice, which is from 7pm - 8:30pm. Jayla and I leave after her practice so we can prepare for school the next day. THEN, there are games on the weekends.

2. You may remember several posts back, I mentioned that I was having "issues" with asking my hubby if I could have Markell's old bedroom as my craft/scrapbooking room? Well, he said yes...in a roundabout kinda way. So, I've actually been working on trying to get that set up. I'm at a stand still with it though. Now, I'm trying to figure out what the "loan application" process is, as I need money to proceed. Loan application process? Yes, that's what I'm calling it. Being that I'm a SAHM, my cash flow is a little limited. So, I have to get "Dawn" money in spurts. Personally, I think it would be easier if I just had all the money in hand so that I can move on with my room. I've already chosen the paint color (as well as the primer color...hee hee). Other than that, I just need to purchase shelving, a clock, curtains and a lamp (and maybe a cool phone). Hubby was on vacation last week, so he moved 2 tables in there for me, YAY! SO, I guess that's where I've been spending most of my time...standing in this almost empty room trying to envision it as MY space. I'll keep you guys posted and will share before & after pix once it's done.

3. Jayla's 6th birthday is coming up next month. Along with trying to wrap my brain around the fact that my BABY is moving on to the "other hand" (albeit just one additional finger). I'm trying to plan her party. I try to keep the birthdays as fun as possible. So this year, Jayla will be having a Hawaiian Luau. How stinkin fun is that???

(NOTE: this picture has no "birthday" significance. I took this picture a couple weeks ago when we went to the State Fair on a field trip. I just thought it was cute and thought I'd break up all the talking, hee hee).

ANYWAY, back to this party. The difficult part has been trying to pick a day to have it. Her birthday is on the 20th, so that's out, being that it's on a Tuesday. So we were trying to decide if we should do it on the 24th or the 17th. The 24th is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and several of her friends will be out of town. BUT, my mom will be here and she's never been to one of Jayla's party's. So, we wanted to celebrate while Granny was here. THEN, the 17th is actually MY birthday and daddy didn't want to have her party that day, as we'd be going out to dinner later that evening. And we don't want to rush Jayla's party. OK, Mommy, make a decision already!!! Sheesh!!! Ok, we're gonna have Jayla's party on the 17th (AND the 24th) and go out for my birthday on the 16th. We're gonna have the big party on the 17th,with all her friends. Then a small family party on the 24th, so that my mom can help us celebrate. NOW...on with the planning!!! So exciting. I found the cutest flip-flop invitations on clearance at Target yesterday. So now I don't have to make them myself. As with everything, I'll keep ya'll posted on the upcoming event.

4. My poor puppy, Trae hasn't been to the vet since December of last year. So many unexpected expenses have come up since then (vehicles), that we just haven't had time to take him. Well, last week, while Daddy was on vacation, we took the ole boy to the vet. For some reason, this dude thinks that he's still under 10 pounds. He tried to sit in my lap as we drove him to his appt. Half of him was draped over my lap and the other half was in the back seat :-). Fortunately, the vet isn't that far away, so the inability for me to breathe wasn't really an issue for very long, lol. We get there and Trae is freaking out because there's this cat wandering around the lobby. I was SO glad that daddy was there, as there was NO way I could've handled that dog by myself. We were finally called into the examining room and they immediately took Trae to be weighed in. At a little over 2 years old, the guy is 70.6 pounds! And due to him still being under the age of 3, the doc says he may have about 5 - 10 more pounds to go until he's considered full grown. GREAT!!! Anyway, here he is...such a handsome "little" boy.

Well, that's about all I can think of right now. I'm SURE I've been up to more than this. But again, it's all that comes to mind at the moment. I'm still doing my volunteer work at Jayla's school. Still having my weekly girls nights. And still taking care of my family and home.

Now, life doesn't get much better than this. Seriously...I totally love my life. It may be boring to some. But I can't help but think that that's due to a lack of understanding my "job". Some people don't understand how the life of a SAHM can be exciting. Well trust me, it is. Sure, there are days that I wonder what I'm gonna do to get through the slow passing hours of the day. But you know what? My life is a gift & a blessing and I wouldn't have it any other way. Bottom line is, not only is my life exciting and fun, but it's fulfilling!!! I rest well at night and I'm safe in my own world. God makes sure of that every, single day!!! No wonder I'm so INSPIRED!!!

Oh, here's one more random picture. She's just TOO cute not to end this post on.

Ya'll have a GROOVY day (I am!)

You are not boring, I love your blog.

I especially appreciate any east coast scrapbookers, mind you I live in PA, but east coast is east coast.

I agree with Brown english muffin. There's too much to do as a mom to have time for a out of the house job. :) Besides, a SAHM is the best kind of job!

Good luck with the planning! I know the party(s) will be a hit! And WOO HOO on the scrap room! Can't wait to see the finished result!

LOVE hearing all the "boring" stuff...and it's not boring!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm TOO excited about Jayla's bday because I love to plan bday parties for my own kids and love to hear other people's plans. We did a Hawaiian luau for McKenna back when she was maybe 7 or 8. It was fun!! you must include a limbo contest and hula dance lessons. Fun!!!!!

And that is SO great about the scrap room. I know what youmean about the SAHM funds--it's something I deal with a lot--but you can get there!! And when you do...I can't wait to see how you're doing the room!! I think, once it's finished, you should have a big giant INvite All Your Scrappin Frinends to a Slumber Party/Room Warming. LOL!!!!! (Icanjust see you trying to "convince" Markell about that one!)

Have a great day!!

Trying to have a groovy day! We are going through the birthday dilemma too but finally settled on ChuckECheese next Thursday at 6 and then on Friday (her actual birthday) we are going to Summerville so hubs family can do the birthday thing with her too. We'll have a little party at Grandma's. I love the idea of a luau party for Jayla!

hiya....thanks for sharing your day...your life. Your daughter is too too cute. Although I live in VA now, I spent most of my high school years in GA. My parents are in Stockbridge. I have only been scrappin' for a year so I have not had the chance to scrap in GA but where do you go? Where is THE spot?

And...you are a good blogger because you have long and detailed blogs. I am short and brief -- that is the only way I can make time to blog.

Anyway...I am glad I found ya.
Hugs
